If you’ve ever visited Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony, North Texas, you might have sensed that the impressive home furnishings store was just the beginning of a much larger development. That’s because it is!
Superscapes is set to play a significant role in the transformation of Grandscape, a $1.5 billion mixed-use development that will become one of the largest of its kind in the nation. With a vision for unique stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, and the residential component known as Live Grandscape, Superscapes will contribute its expertise to enhance the landscape and outdoor spaces of this expansive project.
Developed by Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s company, Grandscape will ultimately span over 400 acres and encompass more than 3.9 million square feet, with Superscapes ensuring that the grounds are both aeThe Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony is a staggering 1.9 million square feet, making it the largest store in Texas and the largest furniture store worldwide. Opened in 2015, it is one of only four Nebraska Furniture Marts in the nation and the only one outside the Midwest.
Grandscape is focused on creating grand experiences, with its latest addition, Scheel’s, claiming the title of the world’s largest sporting goods store. This impressive venue features 331,000 square feet of retail space, a 65-foot indoor Ferris Wheel, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, and a wildlife mountain.
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, founded by racing legend Mario Andretti, is set to reopen soon, offering high-speed racing, an indoor ropes course, arcade games, VR simulators, laser tag, and boutique bowling. Additionally, Galaxy Theatres will open later this year, featuring the region’s first Sony Digital Cinema and luxury seating.
Grandscape features over a mile of frontage on the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) with three dedicated interchanges, offering a diverse mix of stores and restaurants around major shopping and entertainment venues.
The Hampton Inn and Suites is already open, and the residential component, Live Grandscape, will include 345 units in its first phase. Construction is underway on a 419,000-square-foot tower with studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and penthouse suites, with leasing expected in 2021.
Grandscape is set to draw millions of visitors annually, cementing its reputation as a Texas-sized destination, and Superscapes will play a vital role in enhancing the outdoor spaces, ensuring the development is not only visually appealing but also inviting for all who visit.
