Superscapes’ landscaping client, The Dallas Cowboys’ $1.5 billion Star development in Frisco is rising to new heights with the construction of a brand-new high-rise, and we dig it!!
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land and Lincoln Property Co. are breaking ground on an 11-story office tower, set to stand tall on the west side of the Dallas North Tollway. This marks another exciting step in the growth of the Star development!
The new office tower at The Star in Frisco will join a prestigious lineup that includes the Cowboys’ headquarters, practice field, Ford Center indoor stadium, Omni Hotel and shopping center, all part of the 91-acre mixed-use development. Designed by Dallas architect HKS, the more than 314,000-square-foot tower is being built to meet the growing demand for business space at The Star.
“We’ve already signed a couple of office leases and decided to pull the trigger and start this building,” said Blue Star president Joe Hickman. Despite pandemic-related delays, the project, which has been in the works since 2019, is now moving full steam ahead.
“We’ve had plans for this building drawn up for probably a year,” said Hickman. “When COVID hit, we put it on hold. Now, we have some tenants circling.”
With growing interest from potential tenants, construction on the long-planned office tower at The Star is back on track.
In true Cowboys fashion, The Star is about to score big with its newest office tower! Plano-based Cain Watters & Associates is set to be the first tenant to take the field, with Jones Lang LaSalle’s Russell Cosby and Torrey Littlejohn calling the play on lease negotiations.
Blue Star Land and Lincoln Property have already run a successful drive with the six-story Cowboys headquarters and Keurig Dr Pepper regional headquarters. Now, this new office tower is lining up near the Twelve Cowboys Way luxury apartments and Baylor Scott & White’s sports therapy center—adding another powerhouse to the lineup at The Star!
The next big play at The Star is about to begin, with site work for the new office tower kicking off within the next week and an opening drive set for early 2023. “It will have great visibility from the tollway,” Hickman said, signaling a prime position for the tower.
This star player will feature conference facilities, a 7,000-square-foot tenant lounge, and potentially a ground-floor restaurant. Tenants will also get VIP access to the Cowboys Club and Cowboys Fit gym, giving them a direct connection to the Cowboys’ winning team. “People love being connected to the football team and all of our restaurants,” Hickman added.
Lincoln Property’s Worthey Wiles and Jake Young are calling the shots on leasing, making this office tower another touchdown for The Star’s mixed-use development!
