Buff City Soap is set to unveil its plant-based, handmade bath and body products to scent lovers across Iowa’s capital as it opens three new soap makeries in the state. Locations in Johnston, Waukee, and Ankeny are slated to open in the next several months.

Buff City Soap is rapidly expanding throughout the United States with over 50 soap makeries in 15+ states. The three new Iowa soap makeries will open in the following locations:

  • Johnston, IA: 10100 NW 62nd Avenue. This soap makery opened on November 20th one block south of the Johnston High School.
  • Waukee, IA: 956 E. Hickman Rd. This soap makery plans to open in early December near the ALDI grocery store next to Starbucks.
  • Ankeny, IA: 110 N. Ankeny Blvd. Suite 300. This soap makery plans to open in January 2021 in the center of town across from Sun Tan City.

“Buff City Soap will provide the greater Des Moines area with a one of a kind guest experience, which will keep customers coming back for more,” stated owner Chris Meyers. “We know the residents of Des Moines will fall in love with our amazing, 100% plant-based, handmade bath and body products.”

Each Buff City Soap location offers more than 30 customizable scents across dozens of handcrafted soap products; including its famous soap bars, bath bombs, foaming hand soap, and even laundry soap. The brand’s products are crafted by local artisans at the in-store Makeries, which allow guests to customize the scent and ingredients used in the process to create a truly unique soap product.

“Every time our guests come into our soap makeries they appreciate that they are part of our soap-making process,” Meyers said. “The experience makes them feel connected to our product.”
